Below is the guide for installing the CIN software on Windows. If you encounter any difficulties or have any questions regarding installation, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Welcome to the first release of CIN for Windows. It comprises of all client details and invoicing functions. The other components will follow shortly and upgrades will be despatched automatically. If you have internet access then we will be able to send upgrades by e-mail.

To install CIN for Windows you must follow these instructions precisely:

1. Make a Backup and verify it using Housekeeping Utilities.

2. Upgrade to CIN for DOS Version 99.07 by:

3. When this is succesfully completed, CIN for Windows may be installed. Put disk 1 in the drive.

4. Follow the on – screen instructions carefully.

Depending on the age and version of Windows you are using Setup may shut your system down and restart it a number of times.

 
To use CIN for Windows after installation:

Click Start.
Click Programs.
Click Computers in Nursing.
Click CIN for Windows.

Place the mouse into the CIN white box to enter the first screen.

CIN for Windows will recognise your existing security access rights and users who do not wish to use the windows interface may continue to use the DOS version as before.

The DOS Version should still be used for Backup and setting Security Rights at the present time.

CIN for Windows has been designed to use the same data formats as the DOS version so any changes made to client information within the windows version will be reflected in the dos version and visa versa.

If you have a Local Area Network then CIN for Windows should be installed on every workstation and the Windows and DOS version may be used simultaneously. Some amendment to program properties may be needed on network stations to ensure CIN for Windows points to the correct drive on start-up.
